Representative basketball

Representative basketball is a term used for participation in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL). The VJBL consists of graded competitions within age groups (U12, U14, U16, U18 & U20). There are over 50 Associations from all over Victoria that compete in the VJBL. The VJBL runs 2 grading phases between November and February. The main competition occurs between March and August with finals in September.

Diamond Valley Basketball Association (DVBA) Eagles are one of the associations that compete in the VJBL. As a member club of the DVBA, Diamond Creek Basketball Club members have the opportunity to trial and play with the DVBA Eagles representative programme in the VJBL. Eagles trials generally occur over the month of October. More information about the Eagles program can be found here.

Representative basketball is a step up from domestic basketball with the Creekers. It requires you to maintain a commitment to a club in the DVBA domestic competition, train 2 additional times per week with your Eagles team and then an additional game on Friday with your Eagles team. While domestic competitions are about enjoyment and participation, representative basketball is not and is focused more on competition.

If your child is interested in playing representative basketball, please get in contact so we can keep you apprised of our Representative specific activities.
